Message from Jim Schmersahl, Managing Partner, Regarding COVID-19

To our valued clients and friends:

Our top priority is the health and safety of our team members, clients, vendors, and guests. Thankfully, none of the members of our team or their families have been directly afflicted with the Coronavirus. We hope the same for you and your loved ones.

We appreciate everyone's flexibility as we try to remain safe while continuing to provide the impactful tax, financial statement and accounting services our clients have come to expect.

We are following guidelines from the CDC and taking proactive steps to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. We have put in place several procedures, including:

Limiting In-Person Meetings

Schmersahl Treloar team members have been strongly encouraged to work remotely from home as much as possible. While working on-site at clients and having face-to-face meetings has always been the standard for our firm, we are taking the highest precautions for meetings. Many, if not all, meetings will be held virtually using video or teleconferencing tools. Currently we do not expect to have on-site visits at client locations out of concern for the safety of our employees and our clients.   If on-site visits are necessary and acceptable at client locations, our professionals will limit onsite visits to the work that must be done in-person, while being respectful of everyone's health concerns.

If you wish to drop off documents to our office, please coordinate with us so we may provide you with specific guidance and assistance.  We have team members at our office on a limited basis and have installed a mail drop in our side door for documents to be securely dropped off.

Documents via our Secure Portal

We are encouraging all of our clients to use our secure online portal in order to send us tax, audit or accounting documents. The portal is a very secure method for file transfers. If you are not sure how to use the portal, or if you don't know whether or not you have one set-up, we are here to help! Please contact BethAnn Bouchard at bbouchard@stcpa.com or by calling the office and leaving her a voicemail. Please call 314-966-2727 ext. 3011. We access our voicemails whether we are working remotely or in the office.

Regulatory Deadlines

We have been and will continue to monitor updates from the IRS, AICPA and other government agencies that may directly impact you. We will continue to communicate as additional guidance is released.

We appreciate your understanding during this challenging time. We continue to closely monitor the situation and will send updates as necessary.  Please feel free to contact me directly at 314-966-2727 ext: 3021 or any of our team members any time.

Above all, be healthy!

James Schmersahl
